President Lincoln and Vampires?

Okay, it's hard to argue against the fact that in recent years the use of vampires in fiction has really taken off--from YA to Romance and everywhere in between. With that being said, there seems to be a struggle for authors to find something new (that still includes vampires) while not rehashing the same old storyline with the same old characters, but with different names.

I've read a number of alternate histories, even about the U.S. Civil War, such as Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove. Maybe this one will be just as good.

While the 16th President of the United States could have used a bit of secret service help, he certainly appears to have had few WWF-style moves in him. Sharp trailer, definitely more catchy than Flank Hawk's ;).

For those who might be interested, I am busy working on the sequel to Flank Hawk. The working title is Blood Sword. And while vampires do exist in the world of the First Civilization's Legacy novels, Krish won't be facing one--okay, maybe something close...but you'll have to wait and see.

  1. Yes, the trailer is more catchy, but the author did not create the trailer own his own with a zero budget and no experience.
I'm looking forward to reading Blood Sword.

  2. Well, that should definitely be a new twist on vampire stories. As Sandy said, the trailer was produced with more experience than your own, which was a good trailer.

  3. I think Flank Hawk's book trailer is pretty good, but the other is catchier.

I might be picking this novel up--then trying to find time to read it. Onto the stack it'll go. :)

  4. Tim Burton is making the movie based on this steampunk meets Dracula novel. Your trailer is from the heart and it shows. Roland

  5. I'm not a big fan of book trailers, in fact I despise them. That aside, the Abe Lincoln trailer, while very entertaining, doesn't make me want to read the book. It makes me want to watch the movie - which I'm sure is what Burton intended. The Flank Hawk trailer, on the other hand, interests me in your book.

  6. Roland, didn't know that (Tim Burton making the movie). I'm not a big Burton fan but many folks really enjoy his works. Thanks for the positive input on my trailer.

VR Barkowski, I guess it's a delicate balance in trying to interest one in the book and, in the Abe Lincoln case, over the movie. It is good to read that you felt the Flank Hawk book trailer was a postive draw to reading the novel :)
